Knowing the Land •

With this basic ritual, the thaumaturge can ascertain how strong the flow of essence is in that area. One success grants some limited understanding of the power level and possibly an idea to its aspect of resonance. Five successes gives the thaumaturge a good start toward a geomantic map of the land. Time/Roll: 10 minutes

Drawing the Map of Essence ••

The Geomancer is able to draw up a precise map of Essence flows of the landscape. He is able to define the strength and resonance of a Demesne as well as its exact boundaries. If the thaumaturge instructs the denizens of that land into the Feng-Shui of the Place they may ignore up to one botched roll per day. Time/ Roll: 4 hours per half-acre of land

Practical Feng-Shui •••

The Geomancer can work with an existent home or othe building, as well as instruct an architect in the best way to build a new home. The thaumaturge can align the building to different aspects of Essence. This allows to imbue one of the lucky functions onto that building. Time/Roll: 1 hour

Shaping the Green •••

Using this ritual, the thaumaturge can influence the god of a plant to grow the plant into particularly aesthetically pleasing--or useful--patterns. The thaumaturge spends a point of Willpower, which is sufficient to change the growth for a day. The ritual takes thirty minutes, and usually an appropriate oath must be offered as well--swearing to protect the finished tree and not to allow axe or fire to touch it is particularly common. The ritual must be re-performed, at dawn of the following day, in order for the process to continue. The tree grows at normal speed, however, so any bizarre growth can take a very long time without the influence of additional magic. This ritual is often used by the Haltans to shape the plants of their forest homes. Time/Roll: 1 day

Landscaping Technique ••••

The Geomancer can rework one acre of land per success scored on the roll. Depending on the area, whole sections of the surrounding terrain must be reshaped to inhibit, enhance or shift the flow of Essence. He can adjust the strength of the Essence flow by one dot per three successes, and imbues one of the lucky functions in that area. Time/Roll: 1 day

Garden Master’s Method •••••

The Geomancer is sufficiently skilled to affect the flow of Essence in relatively subtle fashions. He can use a single application of his science to imbue more than one of the lucky functions onto a landscape or household. Time/Roll: 1 hour

Raising the Savant’s Workshop •••••

The Geomancer is able to fashion an area, that is suitable for a magical workshop. While no match for a Manse, this space will provide 1 mote of Essence every two hours for the inhabitant to use. Time/Roll: 1 day


Lucky Functions

 - Rerolling a botch once per month, or changing a botch into a simple failure twice per month
 - Reducing the Virulescence or Morbitdity Levels of deseases by one
 - Good crop yields, even in poor seasons
 - Minor Resources (up to Res • in appropriate forms) will always be readily available
 - In unclear situations, the situation will always come out favourably (or at lest not harming) for the resident.
